Hamilton + Hare x Private White V.C.

It was obvious from the first time we met PWVC founder James Eden that we shared similar values. Both of us are outsiders in the sense that we’re not properly trained in fashion or design but have a sense of what the best of ‘modern Britishness’ should look like. When we visited their HQ in Manchester I was really inspired by the factory floor as the heart of their business, and the idea for a collaboration grew from there.

We talk a lot about transparency and a commitment to quality at H+H, so working alongside another British brand who live by those same values was always going to be an exciting project. Private White V.C.'s manufacturing process harks back to the heyday of the industrial revolution, when Manchester became known as 'Cottonopolis' due to its place at the heart of Britain's cloth trade.
We've loved developing fabrics and colours together for this collection, which features a cotton-cashmere robe, boxer briefs and cotton-cashmere boxer shorts, all made responsibly with premium materials.
Working in collaboration, the buttery-soft cotton-cashmere robe was made in Private White V.C.’s factory, while the underwear was manufactured by our expert partners in Portugal.
A particular favourite is the brick red boxer brief, a colour developed for this collection as a tribute to the architecture of industrial Manchester and our very own Chiltern Street.

We're pleased to announce that our collaboration with south London printmaker Jonathan Lawes continues this summer with a pair of swimming trunks, made with an innovative yarn from recycled plastic bottles.
Who Made Your Clothes?
We Need To Talk About Underwear
Despite the industry’s efforts to clean up its act, the men’s underwear market is still largely driven by cheap eco-damaging synthetic fibres and unethical supply chains. It’s time we had an open conversation about fashion’s sustainability blind spot.
